The Director of Marketing Analytics will serve as the go-to resource for CommCreative’s analytics services. You will be tasked with creating cutting edge strategies/solutions and ensuring they are implemented accurately, on time and on budget. Central to this role are Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and a deep understanding of inbound marketing optimization and marketing automation.

This position will have one direct report to begin, and it is expected that the Director of Marketing Analytics be a leader and mentor on the Digital team as we grow the capability. Working closely with the team to enhance the performance of all marketing strategies through impactful use of technology is a core component of this position.

This position reports directly to the Chief Digital Officer.

 

Client Responsibilities:

  • Analytics & Reporting Setup
    • Work with internal and external client stakeholders to gather reporting requirements
    • Ensure reporting and tracking platforms are properly set up to achieve reporting goals
    • Work with Data Analyst to build dashboards and visualizations that meet and exceed reporting requirements
    • Utilize technologies to automate the data gathering process
    • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement to reporting processes driving effectiveness and efficiencies
    • Develop UTM strategies in support of reporting requirements
    • Where relevant, Integrate reporting platforms with CRM systems to facilitate closed loop reporting capabilities
    • QA and spot-check dashboards and reports to ensure data soundness
  • Testing & Optimization
    • Develop and execute testing strategies for Go To Market programs in coordination with Strategy Team
    • Develop and execute testing strategies for new website builds in coordination with web development and design teams
  • Database Management
    • Manage client databases to ensure data cleanliness
    • Develop segmentation strategies in cooperation with Strategy team
    • Develop and maintain strategies designed to enhance database segmentation capabilities over time
    • Manage, update, and maintain Account Based Marketing target account lists in coordination with Strategy team

 

Internal Responsibilities:

  • Management of Data & Analytics team
    • Mentorship and personnel development of data analyst and other team members who would onboard, including interns
    • Creation and maintenance of project tracking for ongoing projects (e.g. monthly reporting) and project plans (e.g. website tagging)
    • Escalation and resolution of issues, delays, or blockers to completion of data team
  • New Business
    • Work with Management team to gather requirements and develop strategies for new business pitches
    • Participate in new business scoping calls with potential clients
    • Conduct and present MarTech audits for potential new clients
    • Work with web development team to gather technical requirements and contribute to website development proposals
    • Input and scoping of data and analytics scopes of works
  • Maintain cutting edge marketing technology toolset
    • Ensure all technological needs for marketing services are met
    • Work with channel specialists to understand how technology can support their strategy and delivery (social, paid search, media platforms/partners)

 

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years proven experience managing website analytics in an agency-like environment.
  • Experience with setup, implementation, and configuration of
    • Google Analytics
    • Google Tag Manager
    • Data aggregation and reporting tools (such as Google Data Studio)
  • Proven ability to Implement closed loop reporting capabilities for marketing activities
  • Experience supporting marketing/demand gen through data collection and analytics
  • Ability to interpret complex marketing data sets and translate them Into clear, actionable learnings for clients and internal stakeholders
